Pedal Together: Inclusive Cycle Riding at Aigburth Community Cycle Club
On our inclusive rides we offer a variety of adapted cycle options and a range of ride routes ensuring that there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
We have trikes, side by side cycles and handcycles available as well as standard two wheel bikes, all provided by Greenbank Sports Academy.
Anyone can attend an inclusive ride and riders are welcome to bring family or friends. All people and cycles are welcome.
In addition to our inclusive rides, the charity Wheels for All also run adapted cycle rides all over Merseyside and the UK.
What is inclusive riding?
Inclusive riding encompasses the idea of providing cycling opportunities that are accessible to everyone, regardless of age, ability, gender, or background.
It’s about creating a welcoming and supportive environment where individuals can participate in cycling activities without barriers or limitations.
Inclusive riding does away with the idea that cycling is only for a certain type of body or person.
Increasing the reach of cycling within the community recognizes that cycling is not just a sport but also a means of transportation, recreation, and social interaction.
The Aigburth Community Cycle Club and Inclusive Riding
Our Club Values include being a community, being inclusive, creating opportunity, and seeking ways to expand our cycling activities to reach as many people as possible. So we are proud and excited to provide regular inclusive cycling sessions that are possible for many more people than those who are comfortable on the typical two wheeled bicycle, and for who ever they would like to cycle with.
Inclusive riding at Aigburth Community Cycle Club means that our rides cater to a diverse range of participants. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a complete beginner, whether you’re riding solo or with a group, whether you have a disability or not – everyone is welcome to join us on our rides.
We foster a supportive community where members encourage and empower each other to achieve their cycling goals – goals that are as diverse as we are as people.
