Members on joining rides

Nashwa

I recently moved to Liverpool, eager to explore the city and meet new people. The Aigburth Community Cycle club ticks both boxes for me. The friendly team guides us exploring the city while cycling, and the enjoyable social chats during the rides with the nice group make me feel at home in Liverpool very quickly. Thanks, Aigburth cycle club.

Sandra

Aigburth Community Cycle Club made such a big difference to my life! I met a great bunch of interesting people from all walks of life and I improved my mental and physical health. Can’t wait for the warmer weather to get back into into it.

Val

Just love being back out on my bike. I was Recommend to join this group from a member can honestly say best thing I’ve done! Given me the confidence to get out on my bike. I look forward to my rides so much. Made so welcome been on some lovely rides met lots lovely people.

Christopher

Moving back home to Liverpool after many years away, Aigburth Community Cycling Club gave me opportunities to meet new friends, gain cycling confidence, and be healthier as a result. I would never have dreamed that I would be cycling in to town rather than driving or taking the train, but I do!

Sarah

Yesterday’s ride was very well organised and thoroughly enjoyable. The meeting place was easy to find and the route avoided traffic and main roads. I found the pace of the ride just right and I really enjoyed meeting new people on the ride and seeing places in Liverpool I have not experienced before. Although I really enjoy cycling, I do not particularly like cycling alone and therefore the group is very beneficial to me.

Carole

I always look forward to the rides. Before I joined, my cycling was solitary and a bit lonely if I’m honest. Now I look forward to the company, the goodwill and support of the group. I am cycling more now and feeling fitter.

Noreen

Yesterday was my first ride and it was both enjoyable and informative. Lovely to get a warm welcome on arrival and reassuring to see the ride so well organised with a clear emphasis being placed on the safety of all involved. Hoping to attend more in the future.

Sanjay

Good people, good fun, good organisation! One of the best decisions I made!

Members on Cycle Skills sessions

I attended the cycling skills session after wanting to get back on my bike for many years but not having the confidence. Neil and Stella were superb teachers, taking us right back to basics without assuming any prior knowledge or experience, and I had learned so much valuable information about checks,
mounting and dismounting before we had even left the car park. The next section in Sefton Park was perfectly pitched, focusing on signalling and control before setting off on a lovely ride. My confidence has increased hugely, and I am looking forward to the quiet roads session this week. Such a valuable free resource that I would recommend to anyone feeling nervous about cycling!

Joining the Aigburth community cycle club is a great way to get more out of cycling. It’s a very friendly and supportive group and gives you the opportunity to make new friends, learn new routes and places to visit, get advice and tips from more experienced Cyclists and really increase your confidence and enjoyment of riding your bike.

Cycle Maintenance Workshop

The workshop is worth its weight in gold. I learned so much in this class about my bike. I’m new to owning a bike and so didn’t really know much about the upkeep and repair. Thanks to this workshop though that is all different now. When I check my bike before a journey I actually know what I’m doing and I also feel confident now to take care of a puncture or brake adjustments. I’ve spent so much recently in local bike shops having these things fixed that when you know yourself it makes thinking about future repairs far less daunting.
